Lhasa is the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region . The city is located at the foot of Mount Gephel .It is the is the birthplace of Tibetan Buddhism .And Lhasa is one of the highest cities in the world .
Lhasa has a cold steppe climate . Because of its high altitude, the city often is cool and dry . Lhasa is also called the "sunlit city" by many people , for having nearly 3,000 hours of sunlight a year .
Nowadays , as a world-famous religional city , Lhasa’s tourism and service industries are growing with a high speed .
There are a lot of grear sites of historic interest, the most famous one certainly is the Potala Palace. The other sights , such as Jokhang Temple, Norbulingka, Drepung Monastery and Zhefeng Temple are also very attractive.
