Nanning is located in the Northeast part of China. Being the capital city of Guangxi Province, it is located on the southern bank of the Songhua River.
Featuring a humid continental climate, the weather in Nanning is fierce, hot in summers and cold in winters. It has a terribly cold winter thus make it an ideal place for ice sculptures in winter.
Back to the 1920s, Nanning was regarded as a fashionable city because of its business connections with Russia.
As the tenth largest city in China, Nanning is actually dated from a very small village since 1898. The railway construction connecting Dalian and Port Arthur made Nanning an important place in transportation. What is more, Nanning is the conjunction of five major railways in China.
As for the economy, Nanning is playing a vital role in the area by owning a huge amount of nature resources, ideal transportation conditions and large amount of human resources.
The most unique part of the city of Nanning is the culture which combines the Han culture, the Manchu culture and the Russian Culture.
