Sanya is known to more and more people as the tourism in Hainan Province prospers in recent years. It is also training place for the Chinese national beach volleyball team. The popularity density of Sanya ranks second just next to Haikou.
Sanya has a long history dating back to Qin Dynasty. Due to the remote location of Sanya, people call it Tianyahaijiao, literally meaning the end of the sky and see in Chinese.
In the 2008 Olympics, the torch was passed to Sanya just after Beijing and Special Administrative Regions.
The climate in Sanya is a combination of humid subtropical climate and a tropical wet and dry climate thus make it quiet warm all the year around with an average temperature of 25.4 °C.
The tourism is Sanya is thriving to welcome international tourists as you can see the Russian and English sign in the street. Lots of international hotel chains are seizing the chances to open up in Sanya including the legendary hotel group Mandarin Oriental.
You can go the Sanya by airplane and travel around it by bus or taxis. The railway connecting Sanya to Haikou is still under construction now.
