Located in the northwest of People’s Republic of China, Ürümqi is the capital city of Xinjiang Autonomous Region. Since the development started from 1990s, Ürümqi has been growing into the largest city of Western China with 2.5 million urban populations. Also, it serves as the transportation and economic center since then.
Ürümqi has a colorful history for a long time dating back to Tang Dynasty but owns the name just from February 1, 1954, meaning “a beautiful pasture” in the Mongolian language.
