Xi’an, served important roles in lots of dynasties in the history, went ups and downs as a capital city of Shaanxi province. In modern time, being part of the economic revival of interior China, Xi’an has been adjusted economically and re-enjoys its significances in the cultural, industrial and educational parts.
Speaking of Xi’an, you should know the world famous Terracotta Warriors, which were constructed according to the orders of China’s first emperor.
Located in the flood plain in central China, Xi’an has a mixed climate sharing the features of continental semi-arid climate and humid subtropical climate. What is more the location of Xi’an made it a perfect place for the refugees back to the World War II with the Japanese’s invasion.
Now, there are designed to be six lines of Metro constructed in Xi’an, aiming to be done by year 2020. Besides the under-construction Metro, Xi’an facilitates its citizens by providing them with a wide range choice of public transportation.
The tourism in Xi’an contributes a lot to the local economics for having lots of historical and naturally scenic sites.
As for the year 2011, Xi’an will be holding the World Horticulture Expo from April 11 to October 11.
