Yinchuan, literally meaning the silver river, is the capital city of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. It developed from a small town along the history. In modern time, it once was a part of the Gansu Province before the new Ningxia Hui Autonomous was established. About one third of the population in Yinchuan is constituted of Muslim minority peoples. While in the ancient time, Yinchuan served as an administrative and commercial center. However, as for today, the supporting economic field in Yinchuan is still nonindustrial but agriculture. There are grain, flour mills and animal products sold in Yinchuan.
While having a desert climate, the falls in there is rather short and annual man temperature is 9.4 °C.
In Yinchuan, there are Yinchuan Hedong Airport, Hengcheng river port and several Highways passing through the city. By taking the above transportation to Yinchuan, you will be able to see even part of the Great Wall besides other tourism attractions.
