Zhejiang ,with Hangzhou as its capital ,is an eastern coastal province of china.The word Zhejiang was the old name of the Qiantang River, which passes through Hangzhou, the provincial capital. Zhejiang borders Jiangsu and Shanghai to the north, which together called "jianghuzhe", one of china's most developed area .To the east of Zhejiang, is the East China Sea, beyond which lie the Ryukyu Islands of Japan. Zhejiang consists mostly of hills, which account for about 70% of its total area.
Zhejiang is the home of Yueju , one of the most prominent forms of Chinese opera. It has fostered the development of many individual localized cultures, as it is mountainous .Zhejiang has Ningbo, Wenzhou, Taizhou and Zhoushan as important commercial ports, and Hangzhou, as its most famous symbol . Since recent years , Zhejiang's towns have been known for products such as silk, food, and construction materials, and as market towns connecting the cities with the countryside. |
